it was not long after starting I was able to confirm that I am as inept with the camera as I am with the brush...not surprising...does not make for lament...one smiles at such things...perhaps for the same reason that when we come across something rather ugly we can know we are on to something good...I have no rules for depiction...I look for pictures that transcend the variant of medium...the pictures here are made from where I live and where I go and what I see along the way...much of this work having been shot in the st. john’s district of north portland, mainly on lombard street from st. louis to interstate avenues...like existential haiku in chiaroscuro....at an age where I've had to forget some things so that I might learn a few new things...this takes up most of my day...sorry if I can't remember your name...my main interest is in the light that gets thrown off the river as I see it passing over me
